Generally, your Morbark Hand Fed Chipper serial number will be located on either the curbside or roadside of the chipper drawbar. We only need the last five digits to identify your chipper.
On most Bandit Disk Style Hand Fed Chippers you will find your chipper serial number ID plate on the drive belt shield above the hydraulic tank on the roadside of the unit. We only need the last five digits to identify your chipper. If the serial number plate is missing your unit can also be identified by the five-digit work order number with is generally a welded or stamped number on the top of the drawbar.
On most Bandit Drum Style Hand Fed Chippers you will find your chipper serial number ID plate on the chipper frame under the engine radiator on the roadside of the unit. We only need the last five digits to identify your chipper. If the serial number plate is missing your unit can also be identified by the five-digit work order number with is generally a welded or stamped number on the top of the drawbar.
On the Cummins 3.9, 5.9 & 8.3 engine platforms you will find your engine serial number ID plate in front of the injection pump. On disk style chippers it will be on the “fuel tank” side of the mounted engine. On drum style chippers it will be on the “back” side of the engine facing the chipper drum
On most CAT/Perkins engine platforms the serial number tag is on the fuel filter/oil filter side of the engine which is the right side when standing looking at the radiator. Once and a while I have found them in other locations on the engine so you might have to look around a bit.
- CAT Engines: Generally, the “arrangement” number will get us what we need to located your parts.

- Perkins Engines: Generally, the first seven letters/numbers will get us what we need to locate your parts.
Example: YK36548*U753636G
On most John Deere engine platforms, the serial number ID plate is located behind the fuel filter above the starter and to the left of the fuel lift pump. All of this would be on the left side of the engine when standing looking at the radiator.
On most Deutz engine platforms the serial number ID plate is located on the top of the engine. Generally, the model number on the ID plate will get us what we need to locate your parts.
3.0, 4.3 & 5.7L: You will find your serial number ID decal located on the valve cover generally on the oil dipstick side of the engine or left side when standing facing the radiator.
These are a little tricker to locate the serial number. The serial number can generally be found in one of the three following locations:
- Stamped in the block – difficult to see but its stamped in the block above the oil filter and above the block heater if equipped.
- Top of the engine – difficult to see but there is a decal on the top of the engine with the serial number upon it.
- Instrument Panel Door – when equipped with an engine enclosure there will be a serial number decal on the inside of the door at the bottom.
